Description: The purpose of this literature review is to map the extent of research that exists on the connection between the environment and recovery for psychiatric patients? This must be done to create a basis for decision-makers to make qualified decisions in relation to creating health-promoting outdoor facilities for psychiatric patients. The literature study will focus on the outdoor environment as a structural framework, where the care of different psychiatric patient groups can take place, and where faster recovery is the goal. The study will hopefully identify emergent themes that should be considered in the design of new surroundings on psychiatric wards.
