Wiki Version:
Black women are less prototypical of their race than Black men and less prototypical of their gender than White women. In turn, their experiences of racial and gender discrimination are often overlooked and rendered "invisible.” However, while this invisibility can further disadvantage Black women who allege gender discrimination, it may lead to certain advantages when they allege racial discrimination. Specifically, although White women are awarded greater financial remedy than Black women in gender discrimination cases, Black men are awarded less financial remedy than Black women in racial discrimination cases.
