Wiki Version:
The “Cuneiform Lab” in Baghdad ============================== ---------- The “Cuneiform Lab” was held by [M. Cammarosano][1] at the [*Italian-Iraqi Cultural Centre for Archaeological Sciences in Baghdad*][2] on April 24-25 2019 in the frame of the program “Training of the staff of the Iraqi Antiquities Department and the Iraq Museum - Promotion and cultural activities - Interventions at the Centre’s headquarters” of the [*Centro Ricerche Archeologiche e Scavi di Torino (CRAST)*][3]. Aim of the course was to promote the autonomous development of educational activities by the museum staff. The activities, addressed at schoolchildren and visitors, focus on the topic of cuneiform writing. As a spin-off of the initiative, a collaboration with Dr. Bahaa Najem Mahmood (University of Baghdad) led to the Arabic version of the cuneiform writing tutorial How to Write Cuneiform, now online at [www.cuneiform.neocities.org/CWT/howtowritecuneiform_AR.html][4] ---------- ![enter image description here][5] [Pics from the *Cuneiform Lab*, Baghdad, April 2019; Photos by Ester Lopardo] ---------- ![enter image description here][6] [Schoolchildren visiting the *Iraq Museum*, Baghdad, April 2019; Photo by Nikos Vakalis] ---------- [1]: https://osf.io/5qjpk/wiki/home/ [2]: https://www.centroscavitorino.it/index.php/en/safeguard-of-the-cultural-heritage/the-italian-iraqi-cultural-centre-of-archaeological-science-and-restoration-baghdad [3]: https://www.centroscavitorino.it/index.php/en/ [4]: https://cuneiform.neocities.org/CWT/howtowritecuneiform_AR.html [5]: https://mfr.osf.io/export?url=https://osf.io/yc8mj/?action=download&mode=render&direct&public_file=True&initialWidth=656&childId=mfrIframe&parentTitle=OSF%20%7C%20CunLab_Baghdad.jpg&parentUrl=https://osf.io/yc8mj/&format=2400x2400.jpeg [6]: https://mfr.osf.io/export?url=https://osf.io/tc8jh/?action=download&mode=render&direct&public_file=True&initialWidth=684&childId=mfrIframe&parentTitle=OSF%20%7C%20IMG_20190423_124528330.jpg&parentUrl=https://osf.io/tc8jh/&format=2400x2400.jpeg
