Wiki Version:
White men (*N*=61) formed impressions of targets varying in race and status. External motivation to respond without racial prejudice (EMS) correlated with reduced (1) BOLD responses to high (vs. low) status in brain regions implicated in person evaluation, and (2) co-activation in areas implicated in affect regulation and social cognition. In sum, EMS affected both target- and task-level responses.
