Wiki Version:
**NOTE as of 4/2/2020**: This manuscript is currently under review. The data and analysis scripts described in the wiki page (below) will be made public upon acceptance for publication. # Overview and organization of this project This page contains data associated with the publication: Adam, K.C.S., Doss, M.K., Pabon, E., Vogel, E.K. & de Wit, H. (2019) ∆9-Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) impairs visual working memory performance **Data citation:** See citation list in the top-right corner of the main project page. **Usage:** If you would like to use the data in published work, please cite both the paper and OSF data set. We analyzed the data in [MATLAB][1]. To run the analysis scripts and [psychtoolbox][2] code, you will need access to MATLAB. Unfortunately, MATLAB requires a paid license. An open-source alternative to Matlab is [GNU Octave][3]. This open source alternative should work well, but keep in mind that code has not been tested for compatibility with Octave. For any further questions or comments, don't hesitate to email me: kadam@ucsd.edu **Note on Markdown files:** If you are not familiar, `.md` files are "markdown" formatted text files. These are just text files that are interpreted by OSF / or a markdown program to render nice formatting when you view them. You can open `.md` files just fine in a plain-text editor of your choice, but they will not be formatted in a "pretty" way. To view and write markdown files in their pretty format, you will need to download a "mark down interpreter" (e.g. [MacDown][4] for Mac OS; [List of others][5]). ## Status As of 2 April 2020 this page has been updated to include th task code, raw data for individual subjects, aggregate data files (.mat and .csv), and the main analyses (e.g., figures, ANOVAs). ## Project Components ### Task Code and Materials This component contains the Matlab code used to present the stimuli to participants. To use the Psychtoolbox code, you need to have Matlab installed and to download and install the [Psychophysics toolbox][6]. To run an experiment, make sure that you place the whole folder in the path. Navigate to the folder so it is the current directory, and hit "play" on the main experiment script (e.g. `Run_Experiment.m`) These experiments were run on PC's running Windows. Some tinkering may need to be done with the code to make it forward-compatible with newer versions of Windows or Mac OS / Linux machines! Folders: * **Experiment 1:** Task code for Experiment 1 * **Experiment 2:** Task code for Experiment 2 * **README_TaskCode.md:** Read me file for the task code. ### Data: Experiment 1 and Data: Experiment 2 These data components contain the Matlab files that were collected for individual subjects. Data for each individual is stored in a Matlab structure with different fields for each variable. For more information on the meaning of each variable, see the separate "data guide" file within each experiment folder. When applicable, this file provides a "dictionary" of the variables that were saved in individual Matlab files. Folders: * **Aggregate files - Matlab:** Aggregate files for each task used to analyze and plot data (Matlab files, ".mat") * **Individual files - Matlab:** All variables and raw data for each individual subject. * **Aggregate Files - CSV:** Aggregate data files in a .csv format for easier use with other statistical programs. * **README files:** There are separate read me files for the individual matlab files (`README_IndividualFiles.md`) and a separate README for each of the aggregate files (e.g., `README_ARCI.md`). ### Analysis This component contains output files for key analyses run in JASP. Each folder contains two copies of each file. The `.html` files can be downloaded and viewed in any web browser. These files show the output (e.g. ANOVA tables) of the main analyses in the paper. The `.jasp` files include both the analysis output as well as the data. These files can be opened and run in the open source software [JASP][7]. **Folders:** There are separate folders for combined analyses, Experiment 1, and Experiment 2. ### Plot Figures This component contains Matlab scripts for generating all the plots found in the paper from the aggregate data. Note, you must have all functions and folders downloaded and on the active path for these to function correctly. Folders: * **Files for plotting**: .mat files containing the data to be plotted. * **Support functions**: Support .m files necessary to complete the plotting. * `Plot_` **functions:** Scripts (.m) used to plot the data.
