Description: Stimuli in the Stroop, Simon and Flanker tasks have a relevant attribute that defines the correct response (e.g., which of two buttons to press) and irrelevant attributes that are associated with task responses. The ability to resolve conflicts between relevant and irrelevant attributes is measured by the difference in response time (RT) or accuracy between stimuli with an irrelevant attribute that is incongruent with the response indicated by the relevant attribute and stimuli where the irrelevant attribute is congruent. This study aims to explore ways of enhancing the size of conflict effects where conflict tasks occur within the context of a video game where decisions are made about neutralising enemies hidden behind boxes.
