Description: This is a collection of materials developed to facilitate a lesson on data literacy for an eighth grade audience. The lesson focuses on a hands-on data analysis activity around climate change. By examining historical and contemporary weather data, students come up with hypotheses, conduct analyses and engage in discussion about findings. Through engaging with an imperfect dataset, students will reflect on what their findings mean in context of the dataset limitations, allowing for discussions around appropriateness of data sources and when additional information may be required.
