## How to Use This Project: ## This project contains all the data used in the paper: Prihar, E., Syed, M., Ostrow, K., Shaw, S., Sales, A., & Heffernan, N. (2022, July). Exploring Common Trends in Online Educational Experiments. In Proceedings of the 15th International Conference on Educational Data Mining. International Educational Data Mining Society. [Click here to access the paper this data was aggregated for.][1] [1]: https://ethanprihar.com/Exploring%20Common%20Trends%20in%20Online%20Educational%20Experiments.pdf **experiment_dataset_2021-09-23.zip** contains all the raw data from the ASSISTments experiments. This zip file contains all of the data, in far greater detail than was necessary for the paper. By releasing this zip file we hope that other researchers can find other uses for the ASSISTments experiment data such as developing better learning metrics and student models. **experiment_dataset_2021-09-23_description.pdf** details all of the information contained within the raw data. **experiment_descriptions.csv** contains a short summary of what research questions each experiment was attempting to evaluate. **experiment_conditions.csv** contains a short summary of each condition of each experiment. **processed_experiment_data.csv** contains all the data that was used directly in the paper, after it had been cleaned and processed. The columns are described in the paper. Each time a student was placed in a condition, that student's data is repeated for all pairs of conditions analyzed in the paper that contain the condition the student was placed in. For example, if the paper compared A vs. B and A vs. C, then a student placed in condition A would be duplicated in the dataset. Additionally, to determine which condition a student was placed in, when condition = 0, they are in the condition on the left of the independent measure pair, and when condition = 1, they are in the condition on the right of the independent measure pair. For example, if the independent measure pair is A vs. B, and condition = 1, then the student was placed in condition B.
