Description: The aim of this scoping review including studies over two decades (January 1999 - December 2019) is to give a broad overview of the existing evidence on the relationship between work-related stress and depression/depressive symptoms. While some systematic reviews and metaanalyses on this association already exist, this scoping review has a broader focus with an explorative character: the goal is to explore the relationship of work-related stress and depression/depressiveness in a more comprehensive approach, regarding the content (e.g., differences in the relationship between different occupational groups or geographical regions) and the methods (e.g. including different study designs or assessment methods). Furthermore, this scoping review intends to find out where the main research gaps in this research field exist.
