Description: LCM+L has developed a controlled vocabulary for our vintage carriers. RDA $338 for computer carriers is wholly inadequate for the variety of vintage media LCM+L needs to create metadata for, and does not map to our reality. I will show how RDA $338 does not work, then present our controlled vocabulary, with photographic and real examples of these carriers. I will also touch briefly on other institutions that are preserving software on vintage carriers, and the metadata strategies that they use. Sharing a controlled vocabulary for vintage carriers helps bring together the community of practice who are preserving vintage media.
