Description: Islandora currently generates and manages data describing periodic fixity verification for assets stored in its Fedora Commons 3.x repository. This data is stored and provided to users as PREMIS 2 "Fixity Check" events. The next generation of Islandora, a complete redevelopment of the platform, is underway, and the migration of PREMIS data from current implementations to the new platform must ensure an integral chain of preservation. In addition to this platform migration, fixity auditing in the new Islandora will generate PREMIS 3 "Fixity Check" events from a Fedora 5 repository, which provides different mechanisms for verifying asset fixity than Fedora 3 provides. While PREMIS 2 and PREMIS 3 fixity check events are semantically identical, the new Islandora must be able to represent both data it generates and legacy data in PREMIS 3 RDF serializations.
