Description: A central property of physical activity behaviour is that the true mean level can mask significant day-to-day fluctuations. The question of how long a time an individual needs to be monitored before the mean level can be identified with the desired level of precision is an important one for research and monitoring. The aim of this project is to quantify the day-to-day variation in objectively assessed physical activity in order to estimate the number of repeated observations needed to 1) rank individuals according to their level of physical activity and 2) identify the usual physical activity behaviour of an individual.
