Wiki Version:
The University Libraries at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas have been digitizing collections and providing access in CONTENTdm for nearly 2 decades. The recent adoption of Islandora 8 and "moving house" provided an opportunity to re-envision discoverability and an opportunity to remediate metadata created using varied practices over the years and making it linked-data ready before loading it into the new system. In this presentation, a Special Collections Metadata Librarian and an Applications Developer will discuss their workflow design, strategies for remediating metadata, low barrier linked data enhancements that add value to existing records, and finally migrating content into Islandora 8.
