Description: In this study, we assessed rhythmic sequence production in preschoolers with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) and their peers with typical development (TD). Fifty-seven 4-5-year-old children imitated a rhythmic sequence unimanually (drumming) and bimanually (clapping). The sequence consisted of three initial beats, a medial pause, and three final beats (from Drake, 1993). We used behavioral measure of accuracy coupled with novel manual prosodic error analyses to assess rhythmic production skills in each group. The supporting files include all of the behavioral coding of accuracy and prosodic transcriptions for each participant's production of the target rhythmic sequence, a coding manual that describes the behavioral coding system, and a spreadsheet of standardized assessment scores for all participants.
