Description: The purpose of this systematic review is to provide an overview of research that has examined the impact of unexpected events on trust in the police. Specifically, we aim to: a) Describe and synthesize the impact of different types of events on trust in police. b) Critically assess the methodological and analytical approach to assessing causal effect within included studies. c) Identify knowledge gaps in examining the effects of unexpected events on trust in police.
