Description: Working paper "Unravelling the conceptual and epistemic confusion surrounding the replications and reproducibility discourse" by Sven Ulpts Abstract: In this review we aim to capture this confusion about the meanings and uses of reproducibility, replication, and related terms across disciplines and time. First, we summarize the insights gained by some of the existing reviews about the reproducibility terminology. Then we review an extensive corpus of primary literature to capture the actual usage and understanding of these terms in the literature and check the insights presented in the small summary of the existing reviews. Lastly, we present a way to understand and define reproducibility, replication, and related concepts.
