Welcome to the OSF page for the **Development of State Moral Elevation Scale (SMES) Project**. Here, you will find information for the manuscript, "*Development and validation of the State Moral Elevation Scale: Assessing state-level elevation across nonclinical and clinical samples*," which includes 1) both raw and cleaned data, 2) R code for replicating analyses from the manuscript, 3) supplemental material for the manuscript, and 4) the final SMES measure and instructions.
To replicate analyses, please see the [Files](https://osf.io/4g629/files/) section and first, download the entire "Data & R Code" folder as a zip file. From that folder, you can open the R Project file titled, "SMES.Rproj". From there, you can open any .Rmd file or object.

*The *SMES_cleaned.csv* file located in the "Cleaned Data" folder can also be used to examine variables after all data has been cleaned and scored.
