Description: This scoping review aims to explore the utilization of hypnotherapy as a treatment approach for depression. Depression is a prevalent mental health condition characterized by persistent sadness and loss of interest. While established interventions like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and medication are available, a significant subset of patients does not respond positively or remains at risk of relapse. Hypnotherapy, incorporating hypnosis, offers unique contributions by modifying negative cognitive patterns and expectations associated with depression. Research suggests potential benefits, including reducing anxiety and depressive symptoms. This review will summarize existing research, report on hypnotherapy approaches and techniques, and examine therapeutic effects and outcomes. It aims to provide a comprehensive overview of hypnotherapy as a treatment modality for depression.
