Experimental Design and Procedures
The experiment adopted a mixed design of 3 (ET: positive, neutral, or negative; between-subject) × 2 (time unpacking: yes or no; within-subject) × 2 (choice valence: gain or loss; within-subject).
Participants were randomly assigned to the positive (n = 31), negative (n = 30), and neutral ET conditions (n = 26) to complete the experiment run by E-prime 2.0 on computer.
