Description: SchistoScope is the latest example of the growing capabilities and widespread use of mobile technologies for mobile data collection, particularly in low resource settings. CellScope is a new way to use the camera of a mobile phone to collect magnified images for medical, scientific, and educational purposes. This project expanded the USAID/DIL funded work on CellScope to for automatic quantification of schistosomiasis (SchistoScope). The data on this page was used in the analysis in the paper titled "Point-of-care sample preparation and automated quantitative detection of Schistosoma haematobium using mobile phone microscopy." Link: https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.11.03.21265895v1 This project holds image files collected by the SchistoScope in testing in Cote D'Ivoire, as well as statistical data on the sensitivity and specificity calculations used in the paper.
