Description: We conducted an environmental scan to gain insight into the tools and techniques to engage people living with NCD and associated cognitive decline. We initiated this effort by engaging an international group of stakeholders, a global steering committee, with experience and expertise in neurocognitive illness and disease, health behavior, healthy aging, gerontology, pharmacy, patient advocacy and international dementia/Alzheimer's organizations. The information and knowledge collected informed a literature search to characterize the scope of published literature on the availability of tools that support individuals with NCD and/or caregivers. This search considered peer-reviewed studies, literature reviews, as well as other published documents from government sites like the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) or the American Medical Association (AMA) that support health services research and implementation studies.
