Information and guide to the files Here you will find the following types of data in folders and subfolders. Folders will have the names used in the list below. Headings, under which you will find more information, will refer to each folder. 1. Demographics and proficiency 2. Stimuli a. Images b. Sentence files c. PsychoPy script d. Lists for presentations e. Code key 3. ERP raw data 4. PsychoPy files 5. Verb ratings with manipulations (aka Appropriateness ratings) **Demographics and proficiency** This contain an excel file with subject identification codes, the background information that was collected and learners’ results on the Swedish proficiency test. **Stimuli** ***Images*** These are in the form of jpeg files and have Swedish names referring to the item. For translations, please refer to the excel file translation_of_Swedish_image_file_names.xlxs in the same folder. Images were developed in collaboration with Peter Roslund at the Humanities Lab at Lund University. Please acknowledge this lab and Mr Roslund if using images in publications. ***Sentence files*** These are in the form of wav files and have Swedish names referring to the content. The number in the file refer to the which version of the recorded sentences the specific word or clause was spliced out of. Note that only the sound files used in the study are uploaded to this folder. Please refer to the excel file translation_of_Swedish_sound_file_names.xlxs in the same folder. ***PsychoPy script*** In this folder you will find the PsychoPy scripts developed in collaboration with Henrik Garde at the Humanities Lab at Lund University. Please acknowledge this lab and Mr Garde if using the script in publications. ***Lists for presentations*** Three lists were used in the study, using the same pseudorandomized order but controlling for verb such that all verbs were used for the first presented still frame across lists. For these lists two versions were developed to counterbalance for response side. That is, green on the right key or the left key. In this folder you will also find an excel file containing information on what each of the variables in the lists represents (variable_information.xlxs). ***Code key*** This is an excel sheet that contains an explanation of the codes that were sent to the EEG. **ERP raw data** Data was collected with Neuroscan at 500 Hz and Cz as the online reference and an online bandpass filter of .01-100 Hz and exported as cnt files. **PsychoPy files** Files generated from running the experiment. All files contain the subject identifications. **Verb ratings with manipulations** This is an excel sheet containing subject identifications, first language, verb presented with objects that are defined with an average of the ratings for the specified group of items.
