Schneegans S, McMaster JMV & Bays PM. *Psychological Review* (in press) **Data** The trial data of all experiments is provided as Matlab tables in the file `data.mat`. For Experiments 1a and 1b, the tables provide for each trial the subject, task condition (ordinal cue vs shape/color cue), target item index (ordinal position between 1 and 3), the color angles and shape phases of the three sample items and the foil item in each trial, the ordinal, color, and shape responses (depending on task condition; the values specify the ordinal position of the item with the selected feature, or 4 when a foil feature was selected), and the response delays (time from cue onset to selection of first and second response, in seconds). For Experiment 2, the table provides for each trial the subject, task condition (ordinal vs location cue), target item index (ordinal position between 1 and 5), color and location indices for the five sample items, ordinal, color and location responses (depending on task condition; for color and location responses, these are the color / location indices, not the ordinal positions) and the response delays. The color indices are 1-red, 2-purple, 3-blue, 4-green, 5-orange, 6-white. The location indices start from the center-right item and run counterclockwise around the fixation point. Pre-processed eye tracking data for the ordinal cue condition of Experiment 2 is provided in the file `gazeDataExp2_ordinalCue.mat`. The cell array `fixations` in this file contains a struct array for each participant, with one struct for each trial. The struct is composed of a list of fixation positions (x and y coordinate, in degree of visual angle), fixation times (start and end, in seconds), a reference fixation position, and a list of start times of different stages within each trial. The variables `stages` and `stageOrder` specify what each stage is and in which order they occur in the trial (with possible repetitions). Participants and trials are in the same order as the corresponding entries in the table `dataExp2`. **Analysis Code** The following files contain the code to reproduce the figures and statistical results from the paper: - `responseDistributionsModelFits` produces the main results figures (Fig. 3, 4, 6) as well as the individual panels of Fig. B1, and prints the main statistical results for each experiment (select experiment at the top of the file) - `spatialTemporalDistanceEffects` reproduces Fig. 7 and the associated statistical results for Experiment 2. - `gazeAnalysis` reproduces Fig. 8. - `featureSimilarityEffects` reproduces Fig. A1 and A2 in Appendix A.
