Description: In this study, people hear the voices of different actors, and rate the type of voice they have on a scale ranging from bass to soprano. In a second phase, they watch the silent videos (of the same clips) and have to perform the same task based on visual cues alone. In a third phase, they are presented with the full AV stimuli and do the same task again. We found that ratings differed relative to the first phase, indicative of biases that people had given the actors' body size, shape, and face. Furthermore, this study was conducted for cis-participants and trans-participants in two different batches recruited from Prolific.
