Data Organization -- #### Matlab Files #### 1. Each participant has a folder that includes time series data for the following trials: a. Static trial with all joint markers: *Static000X.mat* * **Trajectories**: Labeled and unlabeled marker trajectories * **Analog**: Analog signals * **Force**: Ground reaction forces from the force plates b. Baseline trial: *Baseline000X.mat* * **Trajectories**: Labeled and unlabeled marker trajectories * **Analog**: Analog signals * **Force**: Ground reaction forces from the force plate c. Five walking trials: *SLA000X.mat* * Same structure as Baseline trials * Note that the five trials are in random order d. Angular Momentum data: *SubjectXXX.mat* output file from visual3D * **Ang_Momentum_Segment**: Angular momentum for each segment * **Cop**: Center of pressure data * **CoM**: Center of mass * **Marker trajectories** * **Segment_IW**: Angular momentum of each segment about the segment's CoM * **Segment_mv**: Component of segmental momentum capturing the segment's center of mass relative to the whole-body CoM e. file for Floquet Analysis: *subjectXXX_stride.mat* * **StrideData.R_Ang_Momentum**: Unfiltered angular momentum for right step * **StrideData.L_Ang_Momentum**: Unfiltered angular momentum for left step * **StrideData.First_HS_cell**: First heel stride of the trial (R or L) * **StrideData.PTB_step**: Perturbation step number 2. Summary Table folder includes:\ a. *SubjectInfo.mat* : * **subjectXXX. sequence** : the order of the five walking trials where numbers 1-5 correspond to: **-15%, -10%, 0, 10%, 15%**. * **subjectXXX. prePTB** : averaged step length asymmetry prior to perturbations for five walking trials * **subjectXXX. FM** : Max Floquet multipliers for five walking trails * **subjectXXX. FM_gait** : Time series Floquet multiplier for five walking trials * **subjectXXX.FM_diff** : Range of Floquet multipliers across the gait cycle for each walking trial * **subjectXXX.SW** : Step width for five walking trials * **subjectXXX.PCA**: Principle component analysis for five walking trials b. *StepTable.mat* * This is a summary table of integrated angular momentum over each step and categorized based on the achieved step length asymmetry * **StrideID**: "BSL" means Baseline steps (four steps before the perturbation); "PTB" means Perturbation step; "REV" means Recovery steps explain BSL1 and BLS2 * **Bin_Asym**: Binned Achieved Asymmetry * **Side**: Side of perturbation * **AngMom**: Integrated angular momentum in three axis 3. Coordinate system for kinematic data: - X-axis: positive in the anterior direction - y-axis: positive in the left direction - z-axis: positive in the vertical direction 4.
