Description: The aim of this project is to investigate whether serum levels of IL-6 and CRP at age nine years are associated with disordered eating behaviours (i.e. fasting, dieting, binge eating, and purging), and broadly-defined eating disorder diagnoses (anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and purging disorder) across adolescence. We will also investigate the association between these inflammatory markers and eating disorder cognitions (weight and shape concerns, body dissatisfaction) at age 14 years, the only time point at which information on these was collected.
