Description: Our project focuses on the importance of replication studies in computational communication science (CCS) by examining the replication process of a study analyzing the Twitter debate about gaming disorder inclusion in the ICD-11. We successfully reproduced 88.46% of the original findings, highlighting challenges in data access and availability. Despite difficulties, our efforts underscore the necessity of data sharing, transparency, and documentation to enhance the credibility of CCS research. Additionally, our analysis reveals significant data loss, with only 55.08% of the initial sample re-collected due to user and platform activities such as account deletions, user suspensions, and privacy settings. This repository contains all code and instructions on how to obtain the data to reproduce our study.
