Wiki Version:
Abstract: This presentation considers possible ways AI tools might be used to support students at challenging stages of the Information Search Process, particularly at the zone of intervention. Examples will be shared of how different tools might be presented to students with the aim of scaffolding their information/seeking approach or how they might be given guidance to use the tools on their own. The overarching goal in suggesting these tools at the zone of intervention is metacognition: helping students to document, work through, and reflect on their ISP, allowing them to move into the next stage.
