Description: In this review of existing empirical and theoretical literature, we aim to explore the role of social support in athletes' talent development. Notably, we aim to review (a) the ways in which social support has been conceptualized and operationalized, (b) which theories have been used, (c) in which contexts and populations social support has been investigated, and (d) which sources, consequences, and constraints of social support have been identified.
