Description: The aim of this study was to investigate if there is an association between maternal urine concentrations of phthalates and average levels of DNA methylation measured in placenta after birth. The study was performed on 202 pregnant women from the EDEN mother-child cohort enrolled before 24 weeks of gestation in Nancy and Poitiers university hospitals, France, between 2003 and 2006. DNA methylation was measured in the placental tissue using the Illumina's Infinium HumanMethylation450 BeadChip assay, representing over 485,000 individual CpG sites.
