Description: Software for the "Avatar" task (Myers CE, Kostek J, et al., 2016, "Watch what I do, not what I say I do: Computer-based “avatars” to assess behavioral inhibition, a vulnerability factor for anxiety disorders." Computers in Human Behavior, 55:804-816. PMID: 26622109; PMCID: PMC4662559). Versions 1 and 3 contain executable code that runs under Mac OS X (10.9); version 6 runs under PsychoPy, available for Mac OS, MS Windows, and Linux. Additional instructions available in "instructions" file accompanying each version. Task software is open access and may be used freely for noncommercial purposes but should acknowledge VA support as noted in the software and instruction files. Proper citation of the original publication and/or this download is also appreciated.
