Wiki Version:
Here we include our experimental tasks from Experiments 1 and 2. While Experiment 1 failed to capture word learning by participants in either a cross-situational word learning paradigm or explicit word learning paradigm, in Experiment 2 we made modifications to the explicit word learning paradigm which resulted in successful capture of word learning by members in a remote community who are largely unfamiliar with computer-based technology. We additionally include our analyzed data set from Experiments 1 and 2 and R script used for data analysis, as well as photographs of the Towet village setting in which testing occured, and photos of the experimental setups for both experiments. A complete account of the study is in Mulak, Sarvasy, Tuninetti & Escudero (submitted).
