Wiki Version:
This study is aimed to determine whether math anxiety is related to performance on a working memory updating task and, specifically, to the retrieval and substitution components of updating. In order to isolate the effect of each component, a set of numerical tasks are designed that included different combinations of the two updating components. Participants would perform the updating tasks and complete a math anxiety assessment on two occasions: 1–2 weeks before and immediately prior to task administration.
