Description: This protocol details an exploratory scoping review, which aims to synthesise and critically appraise the available literature on the intersectional impact of social, political, economic and personal realities on mental health. The purpose of which is: 1. To provide an overview of the current literature base addressing a socio-political economy of poor mental health. 2. To interrogate and identify a subset of literature explicitly exploring the relationships between socio-political and economic factors, and mental health outcomes, with an emphasis on the intersectionality of these types of determinants in people’s lives. 3. To make suggestions for future research, including future systematic reviews and country specific investigations. It is hoped that the findings of this review solidify the validity of the authors' proposed Socio-Political Economy of Global Mental Health Framework. The review will be carried out in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) extension for Scoping Reviews Checklist (Tricco et al., 2018).
